Dog Treat Baking Tips

Even reluctant cooks will become chefs with a few tips.

  • Bake bones on the middle oven rack.
  • If dough is sticky, apply a light layer of flour to the rolling surface, rolling pin and hands.
  • Because oven temperatures vary, monitor the cooking time for the first batches of treats.
  • Bake bones until the bottoms of the biscuits become medium brown.
  • If bones do not become crunchy and hard, bake them for an additional five minutes or leave them in the oven as it cools.
  • Store treats in an airtight container.
  • Products may be frozen after protected by airtight container.

Dog Treat Cautions

  • If your dog has any known food allergies or is on a restricted diet, consult its veterinarian before serving these recipes.
  • Please remember that these are treats and they should not be the main course of a dog’s diet. Use in moderation. A good rule of thumb is that treats should account for no more than 10% of a dog’s diet.
